Cherry Lime Gin Fizz

This morning I slept a little bit later than my hubby. He had to leave for work early. When I woke up and rolled over, there was a huge glass of  iced water on my bedside stand. He had filled it for me before he left. Might seem small to you, but it is the little things this man does for me that makes me so happy. I am an Iced Water fanatic. I have it at all times. Usually it is the very first thing I do in the morning. So instead, I get to start work from bed, enjoying my morning water and vitamins.

Romantic tip: What little things do you do for your significant other? Oddly enough, a lot of times it is all the little things that add up to one big happy relationship, or one very unhappy one. It can be as simple as filling up your husbands vitamin tray for him. Having a cocktail waiting for him, anything that lets him know you are thinking about him.

It is time for a Summer Spritzer. This is a great drink, but beware, you don't taste any alcohol, so go easy! This makes 1 pitcher for you to enjoy on a picnic or a hot summer day.

Cherry Lime Gin Fizz

adapted from Bon Appetit
2 cups cherries pitted
1/4 cup stevia
2 cups gin
1 cup fresh lime juice
Club soda
8 sprigs Thai basil or sweet basil

Purée cherries and stevia in a blender. Let stand, stirring occasionally, until stevia is dissolved, about 10 minutes. Strain purée through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher.
Stir gin and lime juice into pitcher. Add 1 sliced lime and basil sprigs.

Divide drink among ice-filled glasses; top with soda. Garnish each with a basil sprig, cherry and lime.
