It has been a while since I have done a post. So sorry about that! I hope everything is going great in the land of love and romance! My husband and I have been doing so great. I have been gathering information and ideas for my posts and I am ready to get at it! My husband LOVES Ahi. Me, not so much. But that is what it is all about. Finding out what floats your partners boat and making exceptions for them. I have no problem making dishes for my husband that he will love, even if I won't eat them. Any time I go above and beyond for him, he does the same for me. It is natural to want to please someone if they do nice things for you. Give as much as you can, if they are a keeper, they will reciprocate.
So today I am bringing you the Spicy Ahi Tower. Perfect Appetizer for those of you that love Ahi! See Romantic Tip below the recipe:
Spicy Ahi Tower
4 oz. ahi tuna, diced
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. green onions
1/2 tsp. ground fresh chili paste
1 Tbsp. avocado, chopped
1 Tbsp. roasted jalapeno
1 tsp chopped tomato
1 chive chopped
1 pinch salt and pepper
Mix together the tuna, soy sauce, green onions, and chili sauce and place in a circular mold about two inches wide and four inches high. Press down, then add a layer of avocado then a layer of roasted jalapeno pepper. Top with chopped tomato, salt, pepper and chive.
Remove the mold, leaving the tuna 'tower' on the plate, then pour the sauce below around it.
Mix together the following ingredients for the sauce
1/4 C. Dijon mustard
1 fl. oz. Champagne
1 tsp. capers
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. tomato, diced
2 fl. oz. Ranch dressing
Mix all ingredients together and set aside until ready to serve.
Romantic Tip:
Save up on the side for a nice hotel room. Make a date with your husband to meet for lunch. Instead of going to lunch have the waiter hand him a love letter that says to meet you in room #? Nothing spices up a relationship like an unplanned escapade. If you cannot do it during the day, do it for dinner. You can pack food or get room service.
