Dark Hot Chocolate

Chocolate, the flavor of romance! The most sensual of all sweet treats in my opinion. When someone's in love, his or her brain produces a chemical called phenylethylamine (PEA). PEA acts a lot like amphetamines in the brain, triggering a release of the hormones norepinephrine and dopamine to create feelings of euphoria. Chocolate contains PEA, in turn increasing the feeling of love and happiness in your brain.

Romantic Tip:  Instead of a heavy dessert, serve hot cocoa after a romantic dinner.

Dark Hot Chocolate

adapted from Martha Stewart

1 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
3 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons light-brown sugar
cocoa powder for garnish

Warm milk and cream in a medium saucepan over a medium-low heat.
Add chocolate. Whisk until melted and combined. Add sugar, and whisk until dissolved. Continue to warm mixture until thick, about 5 minutes.
Sprinkle the top with cocoa powder.
Dip in your biscotti and eat!
