Hummus

How much do you and your love communicate? Romance is important yes, but Romantic gestures don’t take the place of real communication. It is so important you take some time out to talk with your partner. I make sure to take time every day to put down my phone, computer, my spatula... and look into my husbands eyes and ask him how it is going. It means a lot to everyone to know they are being heard. Don't always do the talking, listen.

Romantic Tip: Communicate. Take time to talk about your goals, your dreams, your plans for the future, your current lives, things you’re happy about, things you love about the other person, things you’d like to work on, things you’re grateful for.

Now on to today's recipe. I see Hummus in the store all the time. I never buy it. It is so easy to make and you can add your own flavor style to it. Takes 5 minutes to whip this together with 1/4 of the cost of what you pay for it at the store.

Hummus
1 can 14oz chickpeas
Juice from one small lemon
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 tablespoons tahini
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 TBSP Olive Oil

Drain chickpeas, reserving the canning water.

Put chickpeas, 3 tablespoons of the canning water, lemon juice and garlic in a food processor or the blender.
Blend, stopping to scrape down the sides once or twice. Add tahini and continue to blend until everything is  smooth.Taste and season with salt, pepper. Top with olive oil and serve. Keep leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
